About You
We have created A Place To Be for all families on this planet that love spending quality time with unique like-minded people, making new friendships with deep, meaningful connection and wanting to enjoy life within a community of freedom maximalists.
APTB is for you if you’re one of these kind of families:
Families whose kids don’t go to school (homeschoolers, unschoolers, worldschoolers etc) spending much time in Madeira:
Your children don’t go to school and you want to raise them in a neighbourhood where many other unschooling families live so that your kids are free to come and go as they please because the surroundings are not just safe but filled with things to do, play and learn from. Not to mention all the friends living there, ready to play and explore with your kids. APTB offers medium-term rentals for you until your kids are ready to move out at the age of 18, 21 or even 25 years old.
Families from around the world whose kids don’t go to school (homeschoolers, unschoolers, worldschoolers etc):
Your children don’t go to school and you allow them to lead most of their life and learning journey. You’d like to spend several months at a time at APTB, renting one of our apartments (or a place nearby) and giving your kids maximum freedom to explore our premises and learning facilities so that they can simply follow their heart.
Families living in Madeira whose kids don’t go to school (homeschoolers, unschoolers etc)
You live in your own home in Madeira or spend most of the year here and you either homeschool or unschool your child in the freest way possible. Your child follows his/her interests and you provide help and support when needed. APTB becomes the space where your child spends the days and hours he/she wishes to, giving him/her full control of her/his own learning undertaking. You are welcome to hang out at APTB anytime as well.
If you’re renting one of our homes your children may be of ANY age. Even when they’re 18+, they’re welcome!
If you live in Madeira and your child visits us on a regular basis or sporadically he/she needs to be over 4 years old to be without a parent or caretaker.
All children under 4 years old need to be accompanied by their parent or caretaker (another family member, family friend or nanny)
