Are you too scared to unschool?

Hey Plebbles!

At the Bitcoin conference a month ago, AJ, Magda, and Alex's 12-year-old son came up with the word "Plebbles." Bitcoiners use the term "plebs" to refer to ordinary people who discuss Bitcoin. As we were giving away hand-crafted pebbles (designed and created by Magda and Elizabeth, our volunteer), AJ combined the two words and initiated our APTB dictionary that we'll be working on from now on.

Plebs + Pebbles = Plebbles

Our readers, members, followers, and fans are all called Plebbles :-)

Another term we have established is "green pilling." Orange pilling means to convert someone to a Bitcoiner. Green pilling refers to turn someone into an unschooler.

I hope to orange and green pill lots of people and plebbles with my content.

Now, the main reason for me to write this blog post is as follows:

Are you sometimes worried that you might harm your child's life/possibilities when unschooling them instead of sending them to school?

Well, this is not backed by any scientific study, but it is based on logic, my 7+ years as an unschooling mom, and my studies and research on the topic during this time.

So, here it comes:

If you send your kids to school, you can be certain that your children will get damaged in many ways:

  • their creativity

  • their uniqueness

  • their innate love of learning

  • their curiosity

  • their self-confidence

  • their talent

  • their social skills

  • their purity

  • your family bond

  • and so much more

If you do an OK Job at unschooling, you might hit 5% of the negative impact that is inevitable in a traditional school setting.

The beauty of this is that the less you do as a parent, the better your child's experience as an unschooler.

Be present for your children, but refrain from attempting to control them, as this may lead to you becoming their unsolicited headmaster and the 5% of damage will shoot up!

There are books, podcasts, workshops, courses, groups, inspirations, and other resources—more than you could ever consume in a lifetime—that you can use to guide you along the unschooling path until you find what works best for you and your family.

The motto is "LESS IS MORE."

You will realize this while conducting your research. You might read book after book, listen to hours of interesting and inspiring podcast recordings, and so on, but over time, when doing the crucial task of letting go of your conditioning and expectations and spending quality time with your kids, you'll find it very enjoyable and exciting to have this lifestyle.

Enjoy the time with your family as much as you can!
