Looking for land in Madeira

Hey there!

Last week we went to see 3 different plots of land in Madeira. All around Funchal. After asking my subscribers about their preferences, all came back with the same answer: We want a big, green piece of land for our kids, it doesn’t need to be close to Funchal or in walking distance to the nearest town centre.

So, 2 of the 3 we saw were about 20min away by car from Funchal but next week we’ll check out a few that are more than 20min away from the centre. Rob and I were wondering whether people living in Funchal would drive more than 20min. to bring their kids to APTB and pick them up again but if some find this to be much of a hassle, we can always come up with a solution like car pool or even a small but that picks up the kids in the morning and drops them off in the afternoon.

We know now that the priority is that the kids spend much time in nature and not just a garden but more like a field or forest like surrounding. The same applies to adults… it’s so important to be barefoot in nature, in the sun, away from all those stressors like pollution, noise, flashy lights and so on.

One of the land plots was amazingly big (40.000 square meter, divided in 2 parts), beautifully green, quiet, very affordable, however, it came with a big BUT: There was a 5G tower standing on it and if we want to reduce all kinds of stress and pollution, we can’t have the radiation of a tower like this 24/7 around.

But we keep looking and as this is an island there are just so many pieces of land that tick all boxes, so we’re getting closer to finding the right thing for all of us. I’ll keep you posted on our findings, thoughts and efforts to get there.
