Learning is as natural as breathing

Hey guys!
Do you also sometimes think that schools seam more like indoctrination camps (shout out to Julie who uses this term a lot ;-) ) than an educational institution? I’m sure you have in one way or another come up with your own list of negatives of school and are looking for something better for your children. I mean, that’s why you’re here reading this, right?! How convenient that there's a unique community brewing that's redefining what learning can be….

Welcome to A Place to Be, where learning isn't just encouraged; it's as natural as the air we breathe. And that’s why we don’t need schools!

A Neighborhood Where Learning Thrives
What APTB will be once it’s all built….

Imagine a neighborhood where the traditional school bell is replaced by the sound of children laughing as they learn about physics through the flight of a kite, or the economics of trading with their neighbors. A Place to Be isn't just a location; it's a lifestyle, a philosophy, and a community where every day is an adventure in learning.

The Free Market of Learning

Here, the free market isn't just about goods and services; it's about ideas, skills, and knowledge. In this unschooling paradise:

  • Everybody chooses their interests: Whether it's coding, gardening, or even goat care, we learn by doing, not by rote.

  • Community Workshops: From woodworking to botany, community members offer workshops based on their passions. Learning becomes a communal activity, fostering a sense of belonging and shared expertise.

  • Real-World Skills: Want to learn how to build a house? Here, you can. The construction of new homes becomes a learning experience, with everyone from kids to adults contributing, learning carpentry, architecture, and teamwork.

Unschooling in Action

At A Place to Be, every activity is an opportunity for learning:

  • Market Days: Every week, a market day where kids can set up stalls to sell their crafts, homemade goods, or services (Bitcoin accepted here). They learn about economics, negotiation, and entrepreneurship. (that’s my personal idea, not a must but I could imagine something like this happening at APTB, can’t you?!)

  • Nature's Classroom: With ample green spaces, learning about ecosystems, biology, and even survival skills happens right outside your door.

  • Cultural Exchange: Families from diverse backgrounds bring their traditions, languages, and stories, making every interaction a lesson in global culture.

Why Choose Unschooling Paradise?

  • Freedom: The freedom to explore, to fail, and to succeed on one's terms.

  • Community: A tight-knit community where learning is shared, celebrated, and supported.

  • Lifelong Learning: Here, learning doesn't end with a degree; it's a lifelong journey, as natural as breathing.

A Place to Be isn't just a neighborhood; it's a movement towards a more natural, intuitive way of learning and living. It's where the lines between education, home, and community blur, creating a seamless environment where curiosity is the curriculum, and life is the classroom. Woohoo

So, if you're looking for a place where learning is as natural as breathing, where every day is an adventure in discovery, A Place to Be might just be your unschooling paradise.
